ICReDD researchers receive The Young Scientists’ Award from Japan’s Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology

Two ICReDD researchers received The Young Scientists’ Award for 2024 from Japan’s Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Every year Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology recognizes individuals who have achieved exceptional results in research and development or the promotion of understanding related to science and technology through a collection of awards known as “The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.”

Professor Keisuke Takahashi and Specially Appointed Professor Yu Harabuchi received The Young Scientists’ award for research on the following topics:

Keisuke Takahashi (Professor, Hokkaido University Faculty of Science; ICReDD Fellow)
“The creation of the field of catalyst informatics and the development of catalytic methane oxidation”

Yu Harabuchi (ICReDD Specially Appointed Associate Professor)
“The creation of quantum chemical computation methods for understanding the photofunctions of molecules”
