The “WPI Science Symposium,” an annual event organized by WPI, will hold its 15th edition in fiscal year 2026. This year’s symposium will be hosted by the WPI-PRIMe (Premium Research Institute for Human Metaverse Medicine) of the Osaka University and will take place on Saturday, November 14th, at the Osaka University’s Suita Campus. This event is primarily aimed at high school students and the general public. All 18 WPI centers across Japan will gather to share information about WPI projects and research findings.

The program will feature a lecture by Distinguished Honorary Professor Shimon Sakaguchi at WPI-IFReC (Immunology Frontier Research Center) of the Osaka University who was awarded 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, as well as exhibits at booths introducing each WPI center and a poster session by high school students and young WPI researchers. From ICReDD, Specially Appointed Assistant Professor Yusuke Shirai will participate in the poster presentation.
We hope this symposium will provide middle and high school students, as well as the general public, with an opportunity to learn about world-class science. We look forward to seeing you there.
