Research Outline

My research is aiming to develop the next generation of sustainable polymer materials from bio-renewable resources via environmentally-friendly catalysis and process. For catalyst development, both application-driven and curiosity-driven approaches will be considered. For example, simple and safe carboxylate catalysts will be studied in the industrial-relevant (co)polymerizations without organic solvent; meanwhile, enzyme-mimic supramolecular catalysts and enantioselective organocatalysts will be investigated as well to address the scientific challenges in polymer synthesis, viz. control of monomer sequence and tacticity.
