Development of luminescent metal complexes based on the photophysical chemistry
The aim of our study is to develop of “luminescent Eu(III) complexes functionalized SiO2 nanoparticles”. Photophysical properties of Eu(III) complexes are expected to be changed on the nanoparticle surface (thanks to self-aggregates on the surface), resulting in novel photophysical findings. Luminescent nanoparticles attached with Eu(III) complexes are dissolved in organic solvent or polymer systems, although Eu(III) coordination polymers cannot be dissolved. Their good-solubility is useful for application in luminescent materials. Luminescent SiO2 nanoparticles attached with Eu(III) complexes will open-up a new field of photophysical chemistry and material science.
