About the Research

Research Theme

Development of new organocatalytic acid-catalyzed reactions

Keyword

Asymmetric catalysis, Organocatalysis, Brønsted acid, Lewis acid catalysis

Research Outline

My research aims towards the discovery of new reactions by using selective catalysis based on small organic molecules, aka. organocatalysts. Due to the vast number of reactions that can be catalyzed by acids, the main focus of my research is the development and application of chiral organic acids for asymmetric counteranion-directed catalysis (ACDC), towards the expansion and generalization of available substrate classes by the rational and data-driven development of confined and even more active yet highly selective catalyst motifs.
