ICReDD participated in the “Dream Chemistry-21 Invitation to Chemistry – 2 days of hands-on lectures at Hokkaido University,” by the Chemical Society of Japan

On August 1st and 2nd, ICReDD participated in the hands-on lecture program “Dream Chemistry-21 Invitation to Chemistry – 2 days of hands-on lectures at Hokkaido University,” organized by the Hokkaido Branch of the Chemical Society of Japan. This program aims to entrust high school students with the future of the 21st century and to give them a proper understanding of the wonder of learning chemistry.

From ICReDD, each of the three research groups offered the course, and three to four students participated in each course.

[Inokuma Group]
“Observe chemical reactions through the ‘eyes’ of machine learning.”

[Mita Group]
“Let’s try the Suzuki Coupling (Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2010)!”

[Gao Group]
“Understanding and predicting molecular properties and reactivity based on quantum chemical calculations.”
